This was a fun hike. Most of the trail was in Ridgefield, and you can read more about our visit on that page. The pictures below are from the Danbury section.

We actually parked here for our visit to the Maybrook Trailway that starts in Danbury, but is otherwise entirely located in New York State. Since we were here, we checked out a bit of the woods before making our way to the rail trail. We walked a small loop trail that included a steep hill the dogs had fun climbing down.

This is the eastern most trailhead for the Maybrook Trailway. Only the very start of the trail is in Connecticut, before entering New York.

We were driving by and I spotted a painted rock with a dog face, and decided to stop for some pictures. This was across the street from Candlewood Park, which looked like a pretty nice park with a lake. Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed at this park. We only took pictures right at the entrance and then headed back to the car.

It was a week of just awful weather, but I was able to find some sun in the evening here. We started our adventure at this park, before making our way down Main Street, before heading to Elmwood Park and the downtown area. There are two parts to this park. The first part is mostly athletic fields, and the second part contains the War Memorials.

We visited Central Connecticut State University and Southern Connecticut State University last month, and Eastern Connecticut State University back in 2020. Now it's time to visit Western Connecticut State University to complete the set. There was nothing remarkable about this campus, and it was smaller than the others. There are no distinguishing features, other than a snow man that the students built. It was the warmest day of the year so far with temps in the mid 50's. Danbury got 18 inches of snow during the blizzard earlier in the week, and it was all melting at once, causing everything to be a wet mess. Mandy and Lexi needed a bath when they got home. All in all, not our greatest adventure. Since the campus was small, we walked over to the nearby Railway Museum to continue our walk and get a few more steps.

We walked over to this museum after visiting nearby Western Connecticut State University. This looks like a pretty cool museum. I doubt dogs are allowed, so we basically walked around the building, and also walked around the outside of the fenced in area behind the building with all the old train cars. We also walked over to the actual train station, before heading back to the museum to take a photo with the giant Uncle Sam statue in front of the building (who sort of looked like Patrick Stewart to me).
