Coventry
Nathan Hale State Forest

The entrance to this state forest, is at Nathan Hale Homestead. Nathan Hale never really lived in the house, he lived at a house that was located at the same spot. The house is supposedly haunted. We stuck to the loop trail that goes through the forest named for him, and we didn't encounter any ghosts in the forest. The loop was just about five miles long, and is a typical walk in the woods.

Hop River
Trail

The Hop River Trail initially passes through the corner of Coventry between Bolton and Andover, and then again near Columbia. The first Coventry section is notable for the cut outs through the rock, and the second is notable for being the most open section of the trail, with a view of Rt. 66 off in the distance.
Hop River Trail

We continued our second go around on this trail, walking the 2.5 mile stretch between Steels Crossing Road in Bolton and Burnap Brook Road in Andover. This section of trail just scrapes the corner of Coventry, but the trail re-enters the town farther east. Pictures below are from the Coventry section. We hiked a short trail that loops around the park. It's a nice easy quick trail that provided some additional steps.
Creaser Park

This park is on the site of an old summer camp, Camp Creaser. Now it's a town park with a pond, some mowed areas, and wooded trails. One of the main attractions is the disc golf course. There were a lot of people at the park taking part in that game. We hiked a loop trail that went around the pond and through the woods.

Eagleville Pond

This is the boat launch on the Coventry side of the Willimantic River and Eagleville Pond Dam. There is another small boat launch directly across the river in Mansfield.
