We found another cool spot in New England. Temp was only 71 degrees at the start of our hike, but was in the upper 80's when we left the Hartford area. This is more of a walking trail than a hiking trail. It's wide, and almost completely flat. The trail is a 1.7 mile loop at the base of Mount Greylock. The part of the trail that goes through the meadow is quite scenic, offering great views of Mount Greylock and the other nearby Berkshire mountains.

We started the day's adventure at the Adams Visitors Center, we headed down Park Street to the Town Common that features a statue of Susan B. Anthony, who was born in Adams. From there, we continued our adventure on the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, before ending where we started at the Visitor's Center. When we returned, there was a crowd on the lawn with a band playing and food being served. Mandy and Lexi enjoyed a hot dog before we called it a day.

This was the northern most 1.5 miles of the trail, starting from Downtown Adams to the end of the trail at Lime Street. There is no parking at Lime Street, so you pretty much have to park at the Visitors Center. The trail passes through the historic downtown area, and Adams Station, where train rides are offered on the weekends and select holidays (we were here on a Tuesday afternoon). Also along the path is the Adams Dog Park, as well as a grassy area that overlooks the Hoosac River. Combined with our walk through the downtown area, we walked about four miles total. There's about six miles of the trail we haven't covered between this section and where we left off in 2022. It's one of the nicer bike trails in Massachusetts, so perhaps we'll finish it someday!

We stopped to check out this interesting park while passing by on the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail. The dog park here is pretty basic. It's got wood chips for the surface, and the fenced in area is surrounded by wild flowers, so it's pretty scenic as far as dog parks are concerned. There were no other dogs playing here, so we didn't actually enter the fenced in area. What's interesting here is the park area outside the actual dog park. There's a couple picnic tables amongst ruins of old buildings. I'm not sure what was here in the past, but it really was pretty unique. The ruins made for a good photo opportunity.
