Notes: (****) Howe writes of (13-15), that, "Due to the high number
of re-releases, I choose to represent the '70s with just three
examples". Note (14) is credited to White as well on YesYears.
(19) is a band version of the piece on Yes's Union.
(22) was a b-side. (23) and (24) are not backing tracks of the
versions on Union, which largely replaced Howe's guitar with
Jimmy Haun's playing, but backing tracks with Howe featured
prominently and, thus, significantly different. (33) is a new remix
"without compression" by Paxman and Paxman is also described as
having "helped" on (34) and (36), which also seem to be remixes.
(35) was a bonus track in Japan and this is its first international
release. (37) is an edit compared to the album version, removing
Howe's middle section.
(45) is dated to 1985. (46-50) are dated to 1988. (51-55) are
post-GTR recordings, from 1987. Spalding has praised Howe for giving
him a co-credit on the songs and an advance. In Howe's
autobiography, he describes doing new guitar and vocal recordings
for these tracks with Bacon and Spalding, possibly around late 2004.
(56) is from 2002. (HP, 28 Aug 17; updated 13 Jun 20)
