Notes: (*****) Burning for Buddy is an almost mythical release in prog circles as the only album involving Bill Bruford and Neil Peart collaborating (well, until Burning for Buddy Volume II was released). However, don't expect prog rock glory here: the music is firmly in a big band style. Great playing and great tunes make this a worthwhile album to track down. Most of the pieces on the album are drawn from the Buddy Rich Big Band's repertoire, with a scattering of originals.

A second volume, again with Bruford, was also released. (HP, 28 Aug 11; updated 5 Nov 2012)
