2020
Digital
Tracks:
1. "All the Things She Said" (3:42)
Notes: US singer Poppy released this cover of t.A.T.u's "All the
Things She Said" on 3 June 2020, which had lyrics and was produced
by Trevor Horn (based on an earlier
Russian-language version of the song). The song was done for Pride
Month 2020. She had previously played the song live. It was Poppy's
highest charting single to date, making #41 on the US Rock chart. A
video was released, directed by Poppy, with Aiden Ulrich as director
of photography and Psycho Films as the producer.
The song is fairly close to the original in the vocals. The
arrangement is like the original to a degree, but with a heavier
rock feel, particularly in the drums. This maps Poppy's music more
generally, her career beginning in electronic pop and then moving
toward metal. (HP, 6 May 23)
